New Technologies Unveiled to the World
At the start of each new year, the world witnesses the unveiling of new technologies at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the largest electronics fair on the planet. Held in Las Vegas, USA, this event showcases the announcement and preview of new products and technologies. Technology enthusiasts from around the globe keep their eyes on CES. Technology professionals from various parts of the world gather at this event in Las Vegas.

The formalities of this year’s CES began with a press conference on January 8. However, the exhibition started on January 9 and will continue for four days until January 12. Already, there has been a buzz about several new technological products announced and displayed. Apple has announced that its new “Vision Pro” headset, a blend of AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) technologies, will be available starting February 2. Here’s a look at some of the notable products and technologies announced and displayed at this year’s CES.

Asus Dual-Screen Laptop
Asus has introduced the ZenBook Duo, a dual-screen laptop. Unlike the previous Duo models, which featured a small secondary screen next to the keyboard, this version has two screens of equal size. Both screens on this laptop are OLED and measure 14 inches each, with a resolution of 2880 x 1800. The combined screen area totals 19.8 inches, with a 120Hz refresh rate. The lower screen can be used as a virtual keyboard when the physical keyboard is removed. Both screens can be placed on a single surface. The laptop is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and includes 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage.

Monitor Automatically Converts 2D to 3D
Samsung has showcased a 37-inch 4K resolution gaming monitor with the capability to automatically convert 2D (two-dimensional) content into 3D (three-dimensional). The monitor features eye and head-tracking technology, allowing it to adjust colors and brightness while analyzing the user’s position and gaze to deliver a 3D experience. Users will be able to watch 3D movies and play VR games on this monitor.

LG’s Transparent Smart Television
While transparent screen televisions have been showcased at CES for several years, this is the first time LG is presenting a transparent OLED smart TV. The 77-inch transparent screen TV can be adjusted using a remote control. The remote allows users to modify the transparency of the panel, adjusting the contrast to make it function like a regular OLED TV or reducing the contrast to enhance transparency, making the background visible through the screen.
The TV will run on LG’s webOS platform and can be connected to streaming devices and gaming consoles via a Zero Connect box. LG’s transparent OLED smart TV will offer high-resolution video viewing and display important information such as weather and time. LG plans to release this transparent screen TV later this year, though the company has not yet provided a specific release date.

Charging Stand for Simultaneously Charging Three Device
Sattech has introduced a wireless, magnetic Qi2 fast charging stand. They showcased two types of foldable Qi2 charging stands: a three-in-one and a two-in-one model. The three-in-one foldable charging stand allows users to charge AirPods, a MagSafe or Qi2-enabled phone, and an Apple Watch simultaneously. The two-in-one foldable charging stand is designed for charging earbuds and a phone at the same time.
Both charging stands come with a 45-watt USB-C power adapter. These devices will be available starting in the second quarter of this year. The price for the three-in-one charging stand will be $129.99, while the two-in-one stand will cost $79.99.

Lamborghini’s Technology to Monitor Driver’s Heart Rate
To enhance driver and vehicle safety, Lamborghini has introduced a new technology initiative. At CES 2024, the automaker unveiled a new feature called Telemetry X. This system includes Remote Garage, biometric data collection, and a Digital Co-Pilot. The Telemetry X system will analyze biometric data to measure the driver’s heart rate and stress levels. Wearable devices will collect this biometric data from the driver. Through 5G connectivity via Remote Garage, real-time footage, images, and information from any location around the world can be accessed. Lamborghini describes the Digital Co-Pilot as an active voice assistant that will assist in determining the vehicle’s speed. It will also provide guidance on where to drive cautiously and when to apply the brakes.
